After twenty-seven years in business, marketing continues to be one of the toughest challenges I face. While I would like to report that I have discovered a “silver bullet”, I have yet to find
one thing that consistently brings new patients through the door. If you want to grow your business, you have to market and you have to do it consistently.
Some hearing healthcare professionals only spend money on marketing when they are forced to: because business is slow. It’s been my experience that many hearing healthcare providers utilize “instant impact” marketing. When the office is quiet and we need an
instant influx of patients, we run an ad offering free screenings or special discounts for a short period of time. Many of us are so in need of a quick fix and instant gratification that we use the same old ads to get patients in our doors for a sale or an open house. How about those 2-for-1 ads? While this “Come now and get it while it’s hot” promotion may work in the short term, it doesn’t solve the long term problem of consistently promoting the business.
