John A. Nelson, Ph.D. 

John A. Nelson, Ph.D. is Vice President, Audiology Global Relations.  In this role, he ensures training and product support to subsidiaries and hearing professionals across the world.  In addition, he is responsible for audiology education, such as student outreach activities and international conferences.

Background 

Dr. Nelson joined ReSound in 2004, serving in leadership roles in Research & Development and Global Marketing, as well as in the US ReSound subsidiary.  

He has held a faculty appointment at the University of Texas in Austin and was a research audiologist at the Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center.  Dr. Nelson is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), European Union of Hearing Aid Acousticians (EUHA), and is currently serving as President of the Illinois Academy of Audiology.  Dr. Nelson completed his bachelor degree at the University of Minnesota and his master degree in Audiology at the University of South Carolina.  He earned his Ph.D. degree in Speech & Hearing Sciences at the University of Iowa with a focus on psychoacoustics, amplification, and digital signal processing.
